Carving Our Unique Print Block
It's always very exciting to me to get to create a print block of my own unique image.
During Lavender Sage we translate our own drawing- or any other image that attracts us- into a simplified version that can easily become a carved print block . It is then able to be repeated as a unifying thread in our journals!
FINDING OUR IMAGE
They are a work of art all by themselves.

"3 Days by the Sea"
San Clemente
During "3 Days by the Sea" 11 women tuned-in to the impulse of their bodies, pulling images that solicited a body sensation.
Whether uncomfortable, exciting or nurturing they were collected without censor or judgement to gain new direction or insight.
We went to the beach every day collecting objects; bringing color, scent, taste, texture, body
memory and sounds of the ocean back to the studio as inspiration.
We drew and
watercolored
from our
ocean treasures.

Lavender Sage Art Retreat in San Clemente, California
As a community of women we spent hours in the studio, created delicious meals, and took long walks on the beach. We discovered exciting art techniques, with Jane LaFazio, then explored how this art making actually informs our lives through the expressive arts of drumming, poetry, and movement with Pamela Underwood.
We stayed in beautiful artist built home/studio, within walking distance of the beach.
